Old French is a very flexible willow. The rods are a yellow colour similar to Whissender while the thickness is much the same as Black Maul. Great for basketry work and suitable for weavers of all abilities.
This variety may have been brought over originally from France. It is now quite rare in the UK.
Extremely flexible when soaked.
Willow is sold by weight. Approximate number of rods per kilo; 3ft - 210 rods, 4ft - 155 rods, 5ft - 85 rods, 6ft - 65 rods, 7ft - 40 rods
