Product description

Flanders Red willow rods vary in colour from green at the butt end to a striking red at the tip. The variety is hardy with a waxy skin. Rods can grow in excess of 9ft during the growing season. It is more resistant to disease than Black Maul.

Once dry, Flanders Red willow is suitable for fencing, traditional style willow hurdles and basketry. Please be aware that the waxy skin of Flanders Red can make it tricky for a beginner to use in basketry. Requires soaking and mellowing.
