Skills Class – Plait Borders

Product description

This one-day course will focus solely on plait borders.

You will be working from a bordering board to produce samples and to gain confidence and competence in this complex border. There may be an opportunity to work with bark-on and bark-off willows to gain a feel/understanding of the differences between the two.

This course is only for those who are already independent/competent in simple borders such as 4 behind 1 (or 2) and 5 behind 1 (or 2), and who can complete 3 rod wales.

Please note:

• this course is physically demanding and you need a good degree of manual dexterity.

What do I need to bring?

• Glasses (if you need them for close-up work).
• Notebook and pen, if you wish to make notes.
• Old clothes, covered, flat shoes (no sandals or open toes).
• Something to tie hair back with (if needed).

All materials included. Suitable for all weaving levels, great for developing basketmakers 18+.
