Learn how to make a beginners hoop handle willow basket with beautiful willows- a great basket for those starting out in the craft or just wanting a day of fun and willow!

You will learn:

• selection of rods for stakes & weavers
• staking up
• pull down wale
• French rand
• Trac border
• working with a hoop handle
• trimming & tidying the basket

Perfect for beginners or those who have made a few roundwork baskets and want to develop style, control and learn new weaves.

We will be working from a pre-prepared willow bottom which will allow you time to concentrate on shape, control, accuracy and selection of materials.

If time allows, we will make a base for you to take home for your next basket!

All our courses are supported with after class notes, videos and help/advice sheets and blog content to help you continue your weaving journey.

Please note:

• this course is physically demanding and you need a good degree of manual dexterity.

What do I need to bring?

• Glasses (if you need them for close-up work).
• Notebook and pen if you wish to make notes.
• Old clothes, covered, flat shoes (no sandals or open toes).
• Something to tie hair back with (if needed).

All materials included. Suitable for all weaving levels, great for beginners 18+.
