There are plenty of benefits to choosing willow fencing for your outdoor space: its natural aesthetic, how easy it is to install and maintain, the sustainability of willow as a crop, and it’s versatility as a crafting material.

Choosing the right willow fencing supplier is also important. When the question is “Where to buy Willow Fencing?” Musgrove Willows is the go-to willow fencing supplier to many happy customers for a number of reasons.

1. Handcrafted

Every willow fence panel you purchase from Musgrove Willows has been handcrafted by our skilled weavers, using willow grown right here on our Somerset farm.

Woven from one year old willow of the highest quality, every fence panel is unique, reflecting the care and attention-to-detail of our craftspeople. We do what we can to make our fencing as eco-friendly as possible.

2. Range of fence styles

We make three different styles of willow fencing – so whatever look you’re going for with your outside space, we have the fencing to suit. All our fencing can be easily attached to wooden or concrete fence posts.

Roll fencing (screening)

Perfect for creating zones or screening areas, our willow roll fencing can be attached to fence uprights using ties or staples. Available in three different heights, these 3m wide handcrafted fence panels blend beautifully into both modern and rustic outdoor spaces.

Framed willow fencing

Our framed willow fencing is made with treated wooden battens, making the fence panels strong and durable. We use only high-quality, hand-graded willow rods in the weave. These fence panels are also available topped with a decorative 1ft trellis.

Offering a clean, contemporary look, framed willow fence panels add natural beauty and privacy to any outdoor space.

Ribbon willow fencing

Our handwoven ribbon willow fencing adds a rustic aesthetic to gardens and outdoor areas. The strong, neat weave is created using willow with its bark left on, to aid the longevity of the fence.

3. Sustainably farmed willow

The Musgrove family have been growing willow on our Somerset farm since the 1920s. We still employ traditional willow farming practises today, ensuring our willow is grown sustainably.

Sustainability-minded homeowners can purchase our willow fencing in good conscience, knowing that Musgrove Willow practise a carbon neutral policy. Good land management and working sensitively will the local environment helps minimise our impact on wildlife. Part of our farmland is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and fully given over to nature.

4. Willow courses

Throughout the year, we regularly host willow weaving courses at our farm. A fantastic day out for both seasoned willow weavers and complete beginners, these courses are led by a professional tutor, who will guide you step-by-step through a willow project. If you’re interested in crafting your own willow fence panel, our range of garden courses include our Willow Hurdle Weaving Workshop.

The Heritage Crafts Red List of Endangered Crafts ranks traditional crafts by the likelihood they will continue to survive until the next generation. Hurdle weaving is one of the traditional crafts on this list.

It is hoped that by highlighting the very real risk we face of losing these time-honoured crafts, we will encourage more people to learn them, and help preserve the knowledge for future generations. As third-generation willow farmers, this is something we care passionately about.

5. First-rate customer service

At Musgrove Willows, we pride ourselves on delivering a customer service that’s second-to-none. We are passionate about willow, which has been used throughout our lives for centuries because of its beauty, strength and practicality.

If you’re working on a willow fencing project and need assistance, please just get in touch. Whether you’re unsure which style of fencing is best suited to your project, or how to work out how much willow fencing to order, we’re here to help.
