Whissender willow is stouter than Black Maul and therefore not as flexible.
Whissender is widely used in basketry but is probably a variety that beginners should avoid.
Brown (dry) Whissender rods are a warm brown/yellow colour. Requires soaking and mellowing to make pliable.
