Product description

Learn how to build living willow structures to include - dome (wigloo), fedge (living hedge, arbour & arch.

You will learn about design, devising a planting list, selection of living willow rods, preparation & choice of site, planting, weaving, building in structural stability, feeding, care, maintenance, trimming & re-panting.

In the late afternoon we will learn how to make a living willow harlequin tree, in a pot, which you can then take home with you.

The course is supported by written & video notes alongside any photos you may wish to take whilst working.

There will be an opportunity at the end of the course to purchase willow to go home with to then re-create structures in your own garden or site.

Suitable for all levels.

Please note:

  • this course is physically demanding & requires a lot of standing, moving around, bending, lifting & a good degree of manual dexterity is needed
  • in the outdoor, morning session you are working collaboratively with other members of the class learning the techniques & will not be taking home any of the outdoor structures made
  • this course will be based outside for the majority of the day so please dress appropriate to the weather

What do I need to bring?
Glasses (if you need them for close-up work).
Notebook and pen if you wish to make notes, but e-notes and links will be sent after the workshop.
Old clothes, covered, flat shoes (no sandals or open toes), something to tie hair back with (if needed).
