Apprenticeship Opportunities - Hurdle weaver & Coffin weaver

Due to exceptionally high ongoing demand for our willow hurdle fencing and willow coffins, we are looking to take on two apprentices; one to work in our coffin workshop and one to weave in our hurdle workshop. These apprenticeships provide a fantastic opportunity to learn a unique trade. A full time position will be made available to a candidate who successfully completes the apprenticeship.

Each successful candidate will be mentored by a member of our talented weaving team. Comprehensive training will encompass how willow is grown, sorted and processed. There will be instruction on the correct willow to use for each piece and the various weaves and techniques required. Either of these apprenticeships could lead to other basketry work.

The Musgrove family has been involved with willow for nearly 100 years and now grow willow on over 180 acres of Somerset farmland. Our weavers are among the best in the business.
